Sardinia: Sedilo, Ardia festival 2012
Between spirituality and entertainment, the "Ardia" is a spectacular breakneck horse race known all over Sardinia and beyond, held every year on 6-7 July in Sedilo, a little town in the middle of the Mediterranean Island, where more than 100 brave riders descend down the "Su Frontigheddu" hill along a very dangerous path to the sanctuary of San Costantino, just to commemorate the warrior emperor Constantine who saved sardinian people against the enemies. Ride the Ardia is also an act of courage, christian faith and devotion very significant to the people of Sedilo.
